This brand new course is perfect for any leaders or volunteers that want to offer non-technical mountain bike rides. What does that actually mean? Well, think blue-graded trails at a mountain bike centre, non-techical bridleways in your local area or even rides with a mixture of road and off-road terrain.
If you are a scout group, youth group, social cycling group, a teacher, a group of friends or even just a parent who wants to encourage their children to ride, then this course will give you the confidence and skills to plan and lead a great mountain bike ride.
This two day training (which includes continual assessment) is jam packed full of information including:-
- Route planning
- Basic navigation and route planning
- Risk assessment and operational procedures
- Ride preparation – what to take, what to consider
- Basic trail side repairs
- MTB games
It’s all very practical and designed to give you the knowledge to confidently lead on a route that you have pre-ridden.
We have several dates for this year, however they are filling up fast! For more information on the qualification then read all about it on the British Cycling website.
