The British Cycling leadership awards have been refreshed and updated to better reflect how we actually ride and lead in the outdoors.

Overview of the British Cycling MTB Leadership Awards
🚵 Off-Road Leader (Combined Training & Assessment)
For most riders, Off-Road Leader is the best place to start. It is delivered as a combined training and assessment, meaning everything is completed in one immersive course.
- Lead on natural trails, bridleways and forest roads
- Navigate and plan routes
- Manage risk in open environments
- Support mixed-ability riders
- Take responsibility for group safety
🟢 Trail Leader (Three-Part Qualification)
Trail Leader focuses on leading groups on trails which you may not have pre ridden, but we know where at WyeMTB, the best guided ride are where the guide has already ridden the trails lots. This makes for a client focused approach and one of the reason people keep return to our guided rides – LINK
