Downhill Youth Development Camps are the ultimate training days for young downhillers who really want to get to grips with the sport. Starting age is 11 years olds and the young person should have progressed to the Advanced Downhill Little Fodders sessions *We do accept younger riders but we will need to chat with parents before hand to ensure this is the right course. If your child doesn’t attend LF sessions, then they should be giving the 2 dot downhill tracks at Pedalaibikeaway a go.
The course runs from 9.30am – 3:30pm, and is run by Seth OR Joe – Currently competing in the British DownHill series
The day starts with a check of bike and equipment, before heading out onto the trail to look at some fundamental skills.
The level of riding at this point will be determined by the group, and a trail is selected accordingly. However it is anticipated that we will select one of the downhill tracks and spend time sessioning it.
Lunch is included in the package, please let WyeMTB know if you have any specific dietary needs. After lunch we head back out onto the downhill track where we will re-examine the trickier sections. Skills are consolidated by spending time completing full runs of the selected downhill track.
Please note – full face helmets, gloves, knee and body protection compulsory. Chest and neck protection are advised but not compulsory for these Downhill Youth Development Camps.
