🚙 Black Mountains Uplift-Assisted Guided Ride

Big Mountain Riding, Maximum Descents, Minimal Effort

🏞 Ride the Best of the Black Mountains – All in One Day

The Black Mountains in South Wales are home to some of the most remote, technical, and rewarding natural descents in the UK. But riding them all in one day? That’s nearly impossible—unless you’ve got a Land Rover and a WyeMTB guide.

This isn’t a traditional uplift day. It’s a carefully curated, vehicle-assisted mountain biking experience that uses our Land Rover Defender to move your group between trail zones—maximising your time on the descents and helping you cover more ground than you ever thought possible.

🧭 What to Expect

  • 🚐 Land Rover support to access remote trailheads
  • 🗺 Multiple natural descents across the Black Mountains
  • 🏔 High-altitude riding – some descents start over 600m above sea level
  • 👨‍🏫 British Cycling Level 3 MTB Guide
  • 🛠 Trailside mechanical support
  • 🥪 Lunch provided out on the trail
  • 🍻 Post-ride beer to celebrate your day
  • 👥 Small group size – max 7 riders per guide

🔧 Trail Profile

  • 🔴⚫ Trail Grade: Red to Black (trail centre equivalent)
  • 🪨 Terrain: Steep, rocky, technical, with sections of extreme exposure
  • 🌲 Trail Type: Natural, off-piste, remote mountain terrain
  • 🔁 Ride Style: Point-to-point and looped segments, linked by vehicle

Expect:

  • Long, flowing ridgelines
  • Technical rock gardens
  • Rooty woodland chutes
  • Open moorland with panoramic views
  • Big climbs (by vehicle) and even bigger descents (by bike)

🎒 What You Need to Bring

To ensure a smooth and safe ride, each rider must bring:

  • ✅ A fully working mountain bike (e-bike or analogue)
  • 🪖 Helmet (compulsory)
  • 🔁 Spare inner tube (correct size)
  • ⚙️ Mech hanger
  • 🛑 Spare brake pads
  • 💊 Personal medication
  • 🧥 Weather-appropriate clothing
  • 💧 Water and trail snacks
